UHC announces initiative to reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections

UHC has announced an initiative to reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSI).  CRBSI’s are estimated to cost the healthcare industry $9 billion a year.  The UHC initiative includes self-assessment checklists for executive leaders, service line and unit-level staff.  The goal is to improve hospital performance on preventing these infections.
