HHS to use $50M of stimulus funds to target HAIs
Medical News Today reports that HHS officials, at a House Appropriations Labor-HHS-Education Subcommittee hearing, said that $50 million from the economic stimulus package will be used to help prevent infections acquired in health care settings, CQ HealthBeat reports. Richard Besser, acting director of CDC, said that the funds "will lay the foundation for a systematic national approach to preventing health care-associated infections," or HAIs.
