AHA, IHI encourage hospitals to join surgical safety checklist sprint

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Health Research & Educational Trust and AHA tomorrow will host a free Webinar on the World Health Organization’s Surgical Safety Checklist, and encourage all U.S. hospitals to test the checklist with at least one operating room team by April 1. AHA President and CEO Rich Umbdenstock will participate in the event, during which hospitals will share their experiences using the WHO tool.

To join the one-hour Webinar, beginning at 3 p.m. Eastern Time, visit the IHI Web site. The event is part of IHI’s Surgical Checklist Sprint Action Day.
