New Jersey releases hospital specific data on adverse events
New Jersey residents now have access to information on patient safety performance and data on adverse events, including wrong-site surgery, at individual hospitals throughout the Garden State.
In a report issued by the state, the hospital-specific information—included in the New Jersey Hospital Performance Report published annually by the state Department of Health and Senior Services—is mandated under legislation signed in August by Gov. Jon Corzine (D). The legislation also prevents hospitals from charging insurers or patients for procedures to correct medical mistakes.
