Healthcare Quality News is a project devoted to assembling, organizing and categorizing a comprehensive set of news, developments, and related tools to understand the big picture in hospital and physician quality measurement, reporting and improvement.
News item entries in Healthcare Quality news are maintained a minimum of six months, and each are categorized with 'tags,' (Organizational keywords) and with healthcare quality Categories to faciliate searching and organizing the users' knowledge base. Users may submit an email request through the "Contact" page to add tags or categories that will facilitate searching more easily. Healthcare Quality News will try to accommodate each request.
The site is designed and maintained by James J. Pfeffer, FACHE, MBA, MPP, and Jeanne L Henson. Mr. Pfeffer is a healthcare quality measurement and reporting expert with over 20 years experience in hospital and health systems, including nationally known health systems leading in areas of healthcare quality and patient safety. He has has worked with quality leaders and practitioners from around the country and led efforts to design tools for reviewing, analyzing and communicating the increasing avalanche of quality measurement information. Mr. Pfeffer has presented the current state of the quality environment and landscape at national meetings and conferences. He is certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, earned a Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Public Policy from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and currently resides in Massachusetts.

Jeanne Henson has over 11 years of healthcare experience, including a range of roles in the marketing department at Massachusetts General Hospital. Jeanne’s marketing portfolio includes managing the production of Advances, a national physician publication, and creating collateral identity systems for various hospital departments to support hospital brand positioning.
In Jeanne’s current role as a Performance Analyst at Partners HealthCare, she is involved in a variety of quality measurement initiatives, including the Partners Quality and Safety report card web site and the production of several quality reports. Jeanne earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada.
